Name origin
Sybaris is a city-state of Ancient Greece, located in what is now southern Italy, and known for its proverbial luxury and its legendary prosperity. It is the cradle of the philosophy of sybaritism which extolls the pursuit of happiness in just proportion. The Pythia, Oracle of Delphi, said “Blessed are you the Sybarite, who shall bathe forever in abundance”
